Ben Lawson

Ben Lawson is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in mechanical and quantum engineering. Currently serving as the Head of Quantum Engineering at QuEra Computing Inc. since February 2025, Lawson previously held the position of Director of Hardware and Materials at DUST Identity from February 2020 to February 2025, managing technology lifecycle for physical components. Roles also included Principal Engineer and Senior Mechanical Engineer at Neuralink, as well as Director of Mechanical Engineering for the Boston Medical Technologies Division at Cambridge Consultants. Prior positions featured a Manufacturing Design Engineer role at Apple, Head of Engineering at Schafer Corporation, and Precision Engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Ben Lawson earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
