Maria is passionate about creating environments in which students can truly learn and understand mathematics. During her teaching post-doc at the University of Arizona, she collaborated with leaders in math education to spread teaching and testing methods which focus on deep conceptual understanding rather than rote calculations. Later at Seattle University and most recently at Querium, she continues to use these methods to meet students where they are and guide them to greater knowledge of mathematics.
