Rodney Guzman

Rodney Guzman has a diverse and extensive work experience in software engineering and leadership roles. Rodney is currently serving as the VP of Software Engineering, R&D at Quidel, leading a team responsible for various software projects, including consumer-based mobile experiences, cloud-based test result surveillance, IoT fleet management, embedded firmware, and middleware solutions. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Director of Software Engineering - Digital Health at Quidel, where they led a similar team.

Before joining Quidel, Guzman co-founded and served as the CTO of InterKnowlogy, where they specialized in web, mobile, and serverless cloud compute. Rodney also co-founded XenoHolographic, where they developed an AR content delivery platform. In addition, they had the experience of working at Stellcom as a Principal Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of a security framework.

Guzman's earlier work experience includes roles as a Senior Software Engineer at SAIC, where they served as the Technical Lead for various software projects, and as a Software Engineer at The Scripps Research Institute and Naval Postgraduate School, where they worked on hydrophone array diagnostic software and simulation software.

Overall, Guzman has a strong background in software engineering, with expertise in various areas including mobile apps, web apps, cloud-based platforms, IoT, AI/ML, computer vision, and augmented reality.

Rodney Guzman obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Science - HCI, AI, and Deep Learning from UC San Diego, completing their education from 1986 to 1991.
