Manuel Lains

Manuel Lains has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Manuel began their career as a Principal Engineer - Software Engineering at Stolt-Nielsen Seaway AS in 1984, where they were responsible for the Engineering Software Department and worked on various computerized systems for inspection and maintenance administration.

In 1988, Manuel moved to Siemens.A.S. Information Systems in Oslo as a Sales Manager, Special Projects. Manuel then joined Siemens S.A./Computer Division in Lisbon in 1990 as a Sales Manager, Large Systems Projects.

In 1991, Manuel joined BULL Portuguesa Computadores S.A. as the Manager of the Large Projects Division. Here, they were responsible for the development of large projects, including the PORTUGAL TELECOM's OFFICE project.

From 1995 to 2003, Manuel worked at PROCESSUS, Serviços Informáticos Lda. as the Sales and Marketing Director. Manuel was responsible for the development and market establishment of +Gás, an LPG reservoir monitoring and logistics optimization system. Manuel also managed projects within BP Portuguesa, SHELL Portuguesa, Repsol Portugal, GALP Gás, and other companies.

Manuel then joined EUROTELEMERIA, SA in Madrid in 2002 as the Sales and Marketing Director, where they worked until 2006.

In 2005, they joined YAZAKI SALTANO, SA in Oporto as a Project Director. Manuel was responsible for the development of Yazaki Europe's plan for new business opportunities on the European market, focusing on solar panels and advanced gas meters.

From 2007 to 2011, Manuel worked as the General Manager at Manta Diving Adventures.

In 2012, they took on the role of Senior Executive Partner at MLC, Consulting, Lda., where they focus on international business development, marketing consulting, and project management. Manuel also worked as the Business Manager, Nordic Countries at Quidgest, where they were responsible for international business development and establishing local partnership agreements.

Manuel Lains attended the Universidade de Coimbra from 1975 to 1977, where they pursued a degree in Engineering with a specialization in Electronics. Manuel later enrolled at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1978 to 1982, where they earned their Cand. Mag. Informatikk degree in the field of Ciências da Computação e Informática.
