Florian Poppa

Florian Poppa has had a varied work experience, beginning with a full-time internship with Intel in 2003, where they worked on compiler development for x86 and XScale, and designed and implemented automated test suites. In 2004, they were an intern and student trainee at IBM Deutschland Entwicklung GmbH, where they designed and implemented software used internally. In 2006, they were a student trainee at DaimlerChrysler AG, where they designed and implemented Eclipse plugins for modelling product life cycles and workflows. From 2007-2011, they were a research assistant at the University of Applied Sciences Ulm, where they designed a PCB for Atmel 8bit AVR processor ATmega128 for lab exercises and taught an undergraduate course in Autonomous Mobile Systems. From 2011-2014, they were an employee at Geoscience Australia, where they were involved in environmental monitoring and sensor integration. Finally, from 2014-2020, they were the Technical Director at QuintessenceLabs Pty Ltd, where their responsibilities included requirements specification, managing the product roadmap, and customer support and training.

Florian Poppa has an education history that includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Engineering from The Australian National University (2010-2014), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from University of Applied Sciences Ulm (2005-2007), and a Dipl. Ing. (FH) in Computer Engineering from University of Applied Sciences Ulm (2001-2005). Florian also holds a certification as a Datenschutzbeauftragter (data protection officer).
