Process Development Engineer at Quintessent

Boju Gai has worked in various roles since 2012. Boju began as a Research Volunteer at Tianjin University in 2012. In 2014, they joined the University of Southern California as a Research Assistant / Research Volunteer and Teaching Assistant for CHE-476 Chemical Engineering Materials and CHE-472 Polymer Science and Engineering. In 2018, they moved to Alta Devices as a Device Development Engineer, where they designed multijunction III-V solar cells for efficiency improvement of High-Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) aircrafts and low earth orbit (LEO) space applications, and improved fabrication of R&D solar cells, including processing and designing of mask layout, for better performance, yield and throughput. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Quintessent Inc. as a Process Development Engineer.

Boju Gai attended Tianjin University from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Boju then attended the University of Southern California from 2013 to 2014, where they earned a Master's degree in Materials Science. Finally, they attended the University of Southern California from 2016 to 2019, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science.
