Emilie VanderLaan has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Emilie started their career in 2009 as a Sales Associate at Brookstone, where they worked cooperatively in a team and exceeded customer expectations. Emilie later progressed to become an Assistant Manager, responsible for monetary transactions and managing the store's safe log.

In 2012, VanderLaan joined Walt Disney World as a Guest Services College Program Intern at the Grand Floridian. Here, they gained experience in multiple guest services roles and learned to provide a high level of service to fulfill guests' expectations.

Emilie continued to expand their skills in the events industry, working at Mission Point Resort as a Wedding & Social Events Intern in 2013. Here, they faced unique challenges of running a business on an island and planning events considering the constraints of the property.

VanderLaan then joined Wings Event Center in 2014, starting as a Special Events and Promotions Intern. Emilie later became a Special Events Coordinator and eventually a Special Events Manager, further developing their skills in managing and coordinating events.

In 2017, they moved to Cedar Fair Entertainment Company as an Area Marketing Manager, Events & Ticketing at Carowinds. Here, they worked on marketing and ticketing for events.

Most recently, VanderLaan joined QuintEvents in 2018 and held various roles, including Event Coordinator, Event Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager, and Director of Operations. Emilie'sexperience at QuintEvents culminated in their current role as Vice President of Operations, where they oversee operations within the company.

Overall, VanderLaan's work experience highlights their progression in the event management industry, their ability to handle unique challenges, and their expertise in providing excellent customer service.

Emilie VanderLaan earned their Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Business from Michigan State University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications including being Cvent certified by Cvent in November 2013. Emilie also completed Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) in May 2015, Crowd Management Training with Fire Marshall Support Services in February 2016, and ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association in April 2012.
