Ion Negrus

Ion Negrus has extensive experience in compliance and legal roles. Ion started their career in 2009 as a Legal Counsellor at ProCredit Bank and later worked as a Legal Counsellor at BC Mobiasbanca - Groupe Societe Generale SA. In 2014, they joined BCR Chisinau SA as a Legal and Compliance Officer for a short period of time. Ion then moved on to EXIMBANK Bank of Intesa Sanpaolo, where they served as the Head of Compliance and AML Department from 2014 to 2018. During their time at EXIMBANK, they created and developed the bank's compliance function and implemented various compliance activities based on international standards. In 2020, Ion joined Financial Compliance Alliance as the Deputy Chairman before moving to Quipu GmbH the same year. At Quipu, they initially worked as a Compliance Officer and later became the Head of Compliance Unit, where they were responsible for building a new compliance function and ensuring compliance with EU and German normative documents. Ion also led a team of 5 colleagues. Ion Negrus has demonstrated expertise in compliance risk management and implementing internal normative frameworks.

Ion Negrus has a diverse education history. Ion obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Law from State University, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. Following that, in 2010 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration, also at State University. In 2020 to 2021, Ion attended ACAMS, earning a certification as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). In 2021, they further expanded their knowledge by attending Maastricht University, obtaining a Data Protection Officer (DPO) Professional University Certificate (ECPC-B). Finally, in 2022, they completed a certification course in Data Protection, specifically the Certified Information Privacy Professional / Europe (CIPP/E) program offered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
