Juan Cristobal Constain has held a variety of positions in the past decade, beginning with their role as an Asistente de Investigación at Universidad del Rosario in 2011. Juan Cristobal then became a Visiting Student/Intern at the MIT Community Innovators Lab in 2012, followed by a role as Asesor en Gestión Comunitaria y Comunicaciones at Ruta N Medellin in 2013. In the same year, they also took on the role of Program Associate, Inclusive Regional Development Program at MIT Community Innovators Lab. In 2016, they became a Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2018, they were a Consultant and Manager, Regional Innovation at the MIT Community Innovators Lab (CoLab), and a Consultant at Public Equity Group (PEG). Most recently, in 2018, they became the Co-Founder & COO of Quipu Bank, where they are building the first digital bank for the informal economy in LATAM.
Juan Cristobal Constain has a long and varied education history. Juan Cristobal began their studies in 2001 at Colegio Hacienda Los Alcaparros, followed by a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Gestión y Desarrollo Urbanos from Universidad del Rosario between 2008 and 2012. Juan Cristobal then completed an Especialista en Planificación Estratégica Urbana at CIDEU in 2014. In the same year, they also completed an Especialización en Derecho Urbano at Universidad del Rosario. Finally, they earned a Master in City Planning - HCED Group from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018.
