Jon MacLaren is a highly experienced software engineer and researcher with a strong background in grid computing and resource reservation systems. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Qumulo, Inc. since October 2013, Jon previously worked as a Software Engineer at IMDb.com, where promotion to SDE III was achieved. Jon’s earlier roles include Research Associate positions at the Center for Computation & Technology (CCT) and Manchester Computing, focusing on the HARC resource reservation system and contributing to large-scale demonstrations across international institutions. Jon holds a PhD and MPhil in Computer Science from The University of Manchester, as well as a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of York, complemented by a certificate in Fine Art Photography from Photo Center NW.
