Gerard Kalbfell

Gerard Kalbfell, BSN, MSHA, RN has extensive work experience in various roles related to patient safety, risk management, and healthcare operations. Gerard is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Patient Safety & Clinical Improvement at Quorum Health, where they provide leadership in patient safety and oversees the development of goals, policies, and procedures. Prior to this, they worked as a Registered Nurse at Wellpath, where they provided healthcare services and implemented nursing care plans. Gerard also has experience in the automotive industry, having worked as a Finance and Product Specialist at Franklin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. In addition, they have held leadership positions at HCA Healthcare and Community Health Systems, where they were responsible for directing operations related to patient safety and risk prevention. Earlier in their career, Gerard worked at Porter Hospital and Advocate Health Care in roles focused on risk management and liability coordination. Gerard began their healthcare career as a Risk Management Specialist and Registered Nurse at St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center. Gerard holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MSHA).

Gerard Kalbfell has a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from Indiana University Northwest, which they obtained from 1991 to 1996. Gerard also has a Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Saint Francis, which they earned from 1999 to 2003. In addition, they are a Registered Nurse, obtaining certifications from the Indiana State Department of Health in June 1996 and the Tennessee Department of Health in April 2020.
