Valerio Pruneri

Valerio Pruneri has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Valerio began their career in 1996 as a Senior Research Fellow and Pirelli Fellow at the University of Southampton. In 2000, they moved on to become a Manager of Advanced Research at Pirelli. The following year, they took on a similar role at Corning OTI. In 2003, they became the Advanced Research Head at Avanex Corporation's Italian branch. In 2006, they were appointed ICREA Industrial Professor, Corning Inc. Chair and Group Leader at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences. From 2017 to 2021, they were a Co-Founder and Board Member at Quside, SIXSENSO TECHNOLOGIES and LuxQuanta respectively.

Valerio Pruneri obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Optoelectronics/Laser Physics from the University of Southampton between 1993 and 1996. Prior to that, they obtained a Master - "Laurea" in Nuclear Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano between 1986 and 1992.
