Angela Hamilton

Angela Hamilton has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries and roles. Angela is currently working as the Lead of the Social Venture Studio and Entrepreneur in Residence at The University of British Columbia. Previously, Angela held the position of Venture Consultant at Shred Capital. Angela is also the Founder of Inkstone (formerly Lane Editorial) where they provided research-based, creative writing and story consulting services.

As the Co-founder and CEO of Quupe, Angela was responsible for various aspects of the business including strategy, content creation, customer management, partnerships, fundraising, finance, and overseeing product and marketing teams. Angela also served as the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors at Vancouver Mural Festival and worked as an EIR/Visiting Faculty at the Centre for Digital Media.

Before that, Angela founded Editing For People, a freelance writing and editing company specializing in academic publishing. Angela also worked as an Editor for Tablet Publications at The McClatchy Company and as an Online Editor for Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette. Angela's earlier experience includes founding and serving as the CEO of Supersnack, an AIDS charity in New York City, and working as a Graduate TA - Magazine Editing at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Angela Hamilton has an extensive education history spanning from 1999 to 2024. Angela began their academic journey at Christopher Newport University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Theatre and a minor in English Literature. Following their undergraduate studies, Angela pursued a Master of Arts degree in Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia, which they completed between 2009 and 2011.

In 2015, Angela enrolled at the Centre for Digital Media, where they pursued and successfully completed a Master of Arts degree in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia. This educational experience allowed their to further enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of digital communication and multimedia.

Angela's quest for knowledge continued when they enrolled in Simon Fraser University in 2022 to pursue an Executive MBA degree. This program is still in progress and is expected to be completed in 2024. By undertaking this degree, Angela aims to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in the realm of executive management to further their professional growth and expertise.
