Ron Shapiro

Vice President & CTO at Qvera

Ron Shapiro has over 28 years experience in software development and management. Ron received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 1994. In 1996, Ron joined MountainView Software Corporation as a senior software developer and eventually became Vice President of Development. In 2008, Ron left MountainView Software Corporation to join Qvera as Vice President and CTO. Since joining Qvera, he has been an active participant in the healthcare IT standards communities. In 2015 Ron was invited as to join the IHE USA Implementation Committee where he played a strategic role in closing gaps in healthcare IT interoperability and information exchange. As a founding member of the HL7® FHIR® Foundation, in 2017 Ron became co-chair of HL7 International’s Modeling and Methodology work group, which is responsible for defining the basic building blocks of the HL7 FHIR specification.
