Romain Deveaud

Romain Deveaud is a Senior Tech Lead at Qwant since August 2021, focusing on exploratory and applied research to enhance ranking quality and user experience within the privacy-preserving search engine. Prior to this role, Romain served as a Senior Research Engineer at Aiway, providing custom machine learning solutions, and worked as a freelance Data Scientist/Researcher. Romain's academic and research background includes postdoctoral roles at OpenEdition and Avignon Université, where analysis of web interaction and audio processing techniques were key focuses. Romain also contributed to Learning to Rank approaches during a postdoctoral position at IRIT and held previous developer and research assistant roles supporting various projects aimed at improving search systems and information access. Romain holds a PhD in Informatics from Avignon Université, along with multiple advanced degrees in the same field.
