Sander Smits

Sander Smits is an accomplished compliance professional with extensive experience in the financial services and insurance sectors. Currently serving as Head of Compliance for Daily Banking and Insurance & Pensions at Rabobank since September 2019, Sander has held various roles, including Chief Compliance Officer and Manager Compliance. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Achmea, where Sander was responsible for compliance and integrity in non-life and occupational health insurances, and contributed to projects enhancing compliance frameworks. Sander's career began with a traineeship at AuditMatch B.V., followed by roles as an internal auditor at Achmea and VION Corporation. Sander holds multiple degrees, including an Executive Master in Internal Auditing from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a certification from the Nederlands Compliance Instituut.
