Ken Hirschman

SVP, Operations & General Counsel at Udemy

Ken Hirschman is currently the SVP, Operations & General Counsel at Udemy. Prior to this, they were the VP Corporate Development at Rakuten Rewards from January 2014 to December 2018. In this role, they managed the design and launch of the in-store cash back shopping and card-linked offer network, as well as created Rakuten's stock-based compensation program for US subsidiaries. Ken also led multiple strategic investments and acquisitions in North America, as well as one divestiture in PRC.

From January 2011 to December 2014, Ken was the VP Strategic Alliances & General Counsel at Ebates, which was acquired by Rakuten in 2014. While at Ebates, they raised funds and completed multiple acquisitions, launched and managed the Ebates credit card program, and pioneered Ebates' Asian businesses. Ken also created and managed the legal department, sourced and designed distribution partnerships, and negotiated the sale of Ebates to Rakuten.

Prior to Ebates, Ken was the VP Business Development & General Counsel at Goodmail Systems from January 2005 to December 2007. Ken then became the VP Business Development & General Counsel (acquired by Corel) at Mindjet from January 2007 to December 2011. Their final previous position was as the VP & General Counsel (acquired by Acxiom) at Digital Impact (NASDAQ: DIGI) from January 2000 to December 2005.

Ken Hirschman's educational career includes a BA in Political Science and Government from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a JD from Cornell Law School.
