Julie Nelson

Julie Nelson has extensive experience in equity, inclusion, and organizational development, currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Programs at Race Forward, where Julie also acts as the Founding Director of the Government Alliance on Race and Equity. Nelson has a history of directing initiatives focused on racial equity and has held key leadership roles in various governmental organizations, including the City of Seattle's Office for Civil Rights and Human Services Department. With a solid foundation in economics, Nelson earned a Master's degree from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona. Previous positions include consulting work with Nelson Consulting and community-focused roles at Housing and Urban Development, contributing to policy development and program evaluation aimed at advancing social justice and community development.
