Jeffrey Kao

Jeffrey Kao has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Jeffrey is currently working at Radar as a Senior Staff Engineer. Prior to that, they held the same role at the company from January 2021 to March 2022. Before joining Radar, Jeffrey worked as a Staff Engineer from March 2020 to January 2021 and as a Senior Engineer from June 2019 to March 2020.

Before their time at Radar, Jeffrey was a Co-Founder of Northspring Technologies, where they built a profitable indie software company in Toronto. Jeffrey launched several apps during their time there, including Sniped and Measured, which were designed to enhance security awareness.

In 2017 and 2018, Jeffrey served as a Senior Software Engineer & Technical Product Manager (Data Infrastructure) at SoundCloud. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Software Engineer (Technical Lead) at foursquare from July 2014 to February 2017.

Jeffrey began their career as a Software Engineer at Inkling in 2012, where they contributed to scaling out the company's publishing platform. Jeffrey also gained experience as a Software Engineer at PagerDuty and as a Software Consultant at Infusion Development.

In 2010, Jeffrey worked as a Software Developer at Sybase. Additionally, they have freelanced as a Software Engineer, providing services to various clients and working on projects ranging from cloud applications to e-commerce sites.

Jeffrey Kao completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Honours Computer Engineering (Co-op) from the University of Waterloo. Jeffrey attended the institution from 2009 to 2014. In 2013, they also had a brief stint at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, studying Computer Engineering for a year. Furthermore, they obtained the certification of Chinese for HSK 2 from Coursera in October 2018. In September 2015, they achieved advanced fluency in Spanish through the Duolingo program.
