Jan Smit

Prof. Dr. Jan Smit has been Vice-Chairman of the Radboudumc Executive Board and Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences since 1 August 2019.

He completed his training as an internist-endocrinologist in Utrecht. In 2002 and 2003 he stayed at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York for research. In 2007, Jan was appointed Professor of Internal Medicine and Clinical Endocrinology at Leiden University Medical Center. In 2012, he became Professor of General Internal Medicine and Department Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Radboudumc. In 2017 and for some time in 2019, Jan held the deanship at Radboudumc on an ad interim basis.
