Engineering Director - UX at RADICL Defense

James Lamar has over 13 years of work experience in the software engineering field. James began their career in 2007 as a Web Designer at Computing Solutions. In 2008, they joined FedEx Express as a Software Engineer and Data Information Architect. In 2010, they founded and became the Principal Architect of Nautilus Technology Solutions Inc., where they were responsible for engineering software to support local businesses. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Senior Web Developer for the United States Department of Defense and Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc., respectively. In 2013, they joined IBM as a Senior Software Architect, where they implemented the first ever production use of Watson AI. James then moved on to NetApp SolidFire in 2018 as a Senior Software Engineer, and then to Xandr in 2019 as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2021, they joined Daily AI as Chief Software Architect, where they led a startup engineering team to modernize the mortgage industry with a bleeding-edge CRM. Currently, they are a Principal Software Architect at RADICL Defense.

James Lamar began their educational journey in 1992 at Old Dominion University, where they studied Fine and Studio Arts for one year. James then moved on to Gateway Christian School, where they obtained their High School Diploma in 1999, specializing in Honors Math and Science. From 2000 to 2002, James attended The University of Memphis, studying Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. James then attended Master's Commission Bible Institute from 2003 to 2004 and obtained their Ministry Ordination in Theological and Ministerial Studies. Finally, James Lamar completed their Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership at The University of Memphis in 2006. Additionally, James has obtained several certifications, including NodeJS/Mongo/Restify API from Udemy in 2017, IBM Cloudant Developer Essentials - 2017 from IBM in 2017, NoSQL and DBaaS from IBM Cognitive Class in 2017, GulpJS from Udemy in 2017, NodeJS from Udemy in 2016, AngularJS from Udemy in 2014, Watson Conversation Service Foundations from IBM in 2017, and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in 2012.
