Laura Pihlgren is a Senior R&D Specialist and Leading Scientist at Radiometer Turku Oy, where responsibilities include leading the evaluation of new biomarkers and managing complex documentation for multiple research and development projects. Prior to this role, Pihlgren served as a specializing clinical chemist at Tyks Turku University Hospital, completing specialization training in clinical chemistry, hematology, and laboratory medicine. Pihlgren's academic background includes a Licentiate degree in Clinical Chemistry from the University of Eastern Finland, a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Turku, and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the same institution. Pihlgren's doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterization of up-converting luminescent nanomaterials, with applications in whole blood immunoassays.
