Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar
Sergio Sanchez is an experienced tennis coach with a diverse background in coaching and athlete development. Since April 2017, Sergio has been coaching at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar. Prior to this role, Sergio served as the Head Coach at Tennis Monsters in Auckland from September 2016 to April 2017, where responsibilities included supervising training activities and inspiring young players. From September 2014 to May 2016, Sergio coached tennis at Adrian Barry Tennis in Melbourne, integrating Australian and Spanish coaching methodologies. Earlier experience includes a role as a tennis coach at the Technification Centre of the Spanish Tennis Federation from May 2010 to October 2012, where Sergio trained promising under-14 players while traveling for Tennis Europe events. Additionally, Sergio worked as a dolphin trainer at Mundomar from January 2013 to August 2014. Sergio holds a certification from the Real Federación Española de Tennis obtained in 2004.

Located in Manacor (Mallorca), Rafa Nadal’s home town, the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar combines tennis and education so that students can continue their pathway to professional tennis without having to neglect their academic studies. The Academy has its own training system based on the experience acquired by Rafa and his technical team during his years on the ATP circuit, and including the values that have been fundamental to his achievements and success. The Academy’s team is comprised of a group of experienced coaches, directed by Toni Nadal, and by other professionals that have accompanied Rafa throughout his sporting career. The team in which he has always trusted is actively involved and has an important role at the Academy.
