Alain Herbertz began their work experience in 1984 as a System Engineer at Belsim. In 1991, they joined Raffinerie Tirlemontoise as a Project Engineer and held that role until 2006. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as an Investment Coordinator at the same company. Alain then served as a Group Function employee from 2008 to 2013, and finally became the Head of Business Support in 2013.
Alain Herbertz began their education in 1978 at Saint Barthélemy, where they studied Special Mathematics within the field of Engineering Mathematics. Alain completed their studies in the same year. In 1979, they enrolled at the University of Liège and pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Chemical Engineering. Alain successfully completed this program in 1984.
