Dennis Wied

Dennis Wied has a diverse professional background with over four decades of experience in engineering and entrepreneurship. Since January 2012, Dennis has served as a Councilman in Canon City, contributing to local governance. As the Owner of Raft Masters since 1989, Dennis has played a pivotal role in operating a Colorado rafting outfitter on the Arkansas River and Clear Creek. Prior experience includes serving as a Staff Engineer at Information Storage Incorporated from 1983 to 1986, where focus was on developing optical disk drives, and working as a Senior Engineer at Harris Corporation from September 1973 to January 1980, specializing in mechanical engineering within the Electro-Optics Division. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, complemented by a symbolic "PhD" from the School of Hard Knocks, emphasizing practical experience gained throughout a lifelong career.
