Istvan Kovacs

Istvan Kovacs has extensive experience in the banking and fintech sectors, currently serving at Raiffeisen Bank International AG since October 2009. Currently, Istvan leads the Blockchain Hub, focusing on executing the bank's blockchain strategy through tokenization and cryptocurrency initiatives while overseeing various projects and conducting market research. Previous roles at Raiffeisen include Senior Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystems Manager, where management of fintech partnerships was key, and Professional Efficiency Manager, who supported productivity initiatives across the organization. As a Lean Navigator, Istvan facilitated large-scale process improvements, and in earlier positions, played a supportive role in relationship management and strategic processes. Prior experience includes an internship at UniCredit Bank Austria AG, where support was provided in finance transactions and project management. Istvan holds a Master of Arts in International Business Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in the same field from Hochschule Burgenland, along with an exchange semester at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management.
