Ion Irimia

Ion Irimia has extensive work experience in various roles within the telecommunications and banking industry. Ion is currently working at Raiffeisen Bank Romania as a Security Operations Lead since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Vodafone from 2016 to 2021, where they served as a Team Leader and Technical Lead in Second Line Operations Core IP&TX. In these roles, they managed teams, coordinated external suppliers and subcontractors, designed and implemented project-based solutions, managed budgets, and maintained relationships with stakeholders. Before joining Vodafone, Ion worked at Vodafone Romania as an IP Engineer from 2013 to 2016, where they provided support for DataCenter, Office LAN, and Core IP equipment. Ion also configured and maintained network security equipment and managed vendor relationships. Ion's earlier experience includes working as a Systems Engineer/Network and Security Engineer at Temenos from 2012 to 2013 and as a Network Administrator at ApplyIT from 2010 to 2012.

Ion Irimia completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Networks and Software for Telecommunications from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest in 2010. Ion then pursued a Master's degree in IT&C Security from Academia de Studii Economice din București, graduating in 2012. Additionally, Ion obtained several certifications, including Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 4, JNCIS-SEC, Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures, JNCIA, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
