Tsungyu Chien

TsungYu Chien is a seasoned data engineer with extensive experience in leading teams and designing data solutions. Currently serving as a Senior Data Engineer at Rakuten Viki since November 2022, TsungYu previously held the same title at Shopee from March 2020 to October 2022, where leadership involved coaching eight data engineers and supporting multiple product lines through data mart design and ETL pipeline construction. Prior to Shopee, TsungYu contributed to The Apache Software Foundation as an Apache Kafka Contributor, enhancing Kafka API features and core functions. Earlier roles include development of a database synchronizing system at Ruten - PChome eBay Co., Ltd. and project leadership in Android system development at Weshine Technology Co., Ltd. TsungYu holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Yuan-Ze University.
