Wei-Shen Mak is the Global Head of Legal & Business Affairs at Rakuten Viki. Wei-Shen has over 15 years of experience in the legal field, with a focus on media and technology.

Wei-Shen Mak started their career as a solicitor at Clayton Utz, one of Australia's largest law firms. Wei-Shen then moved to WSM Legal & Commercial, where they were a principal for two years. In 2015, they joined Racing Victoria Limited as a Senior Legal and Commercial Consultant.

In 2016, Wei-Shen Mak co-founded SWADE Medtech, a medical device start-up that is developing a novel tech-enabled solution to improve nasogastric tube placement by providing clinicians with real-time feedback as to location. Wei-Shen served as a director of the company for two years before joining beIN Asia Pacific as Senior Legal Counsel (APAC) - Licensing, Distribution and Digital in 2017.

Wei-Shen Mak joined Rakuten Viki in 2019 as Global Head of Legal & Business Affairs. In this role, they are responsible for all legal and business affairs matters for the company, including content licensing, distribution, and digital rights management.

Wei-Shen Mak has a background in behavioral economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Harvard Business School. Wei-Shen also has a LEAD Certificate in corporate innovation, strategic leadership, and design thinking from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In addition, they have an MBA from Melbourne Business School and a BCom/LLB from the University of Melbourne.

Their manager is Sam Wu, CEO. They work with Sarah Kim - SVP, Content, Michelle Young - VP, Communications, and Shen-Hau C. - Director of UX & Design.
