Dean C. Mumme

Chief Scientist at Ram Laboratories

Dean C. Mumme has held several positions in the tech industry over the past 17 years. In 2003, they began as a Senior Software Engineer at Kyocera Wireless, where they were responsible for embedded programming of cell phone user interfaces and the creation of software development process. In 2005, they moved to RAM Laboratories, Inc. as Chief Scientist, conducting research and development for defense related projects, writing SBIR proposals, and acting as Principal Investigator for current projects. In 2010, they became the R&D Group Leader at Broadata Communications, Inc., supervising other research scientists, performing Phase I and Phase II development of new products, and interfacing with clients and stakeholders. In 2012, they took on the role of Software Engineer / Computer Scientist (Contract) at Apollo Professional Solutions, creating C++ / Qt GUI for CT2WS system and modeling spiking neural networks using sparse N-of-M codes. Finally, in 2013, they returned to RAM Laboratories, Inc. as Chief Scientist.

Dean C. Mumme has an extensive educational background. Dean C. obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aeronautics & Astronautics, Avionics specialization from MIT in 1979. Dean C. then went on to receive a Master's degree in Mathematics from Idaho State University in 1983. Following that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1988. In addition, Dean has a Master's degree in Mathematics from Idaho State University and a certification in High Power Rocketry Level 2 from the Tripoli Rocketry Association, obtained in 2013.
