Matthew Barnes is an Associate Environmental Consultant at Ramboll since April 2018, currently involved in the HS2 Phase 1 Area North project as an Assistant Consents Manager (Water). Prior experience includes serving as a Principal Environmental Consultant, overseeing design management and environmental mitigation for HS2 enabling works. Previously, Matthew worked at Crossrail Ltd from December 2014 to April 2018 as an EMS Manager, leading the implementation of an Environment Management System and conducting environmental audits. Earlier, as an Environment Management Officer at the Environment Agency from November 2011 to December 2014, Matthew conducted site audits, enforced environmental regulations, and liaised with various stakeholders. Matthew holds a Master of Arts in Environment Management and Consultancy and a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environment Science from Lancaster University.
