Katie Sykes possesses extensive experience in ecology, currently serving as Principal Ecologist at RammSanderson Ecology Ltd since April 2016, and previously held various roles including Senior Ecologist and Graduate Ecologist within the same company. Concurrently, Katie has been a Signaller in the British Army Reserves since September 2010, completing officer training and the Military Leadership Development Program Level 2, while developing skills in communication, leadership, and resource management. Prior experience at Eurofins Agroscience Services involved roles such as Chemical Store and Specimen Preparation Assistant and Field Trials Assistant, where responsibilities included managing chemical dispensation, conducting efficacy trials, and assisting with agronomy. Katie holds a 1st Class B.Sc. in Applied Terrestrial and Marine Ecology from Bangor University, alongside A Levels and GCSE qualifications from Frances Bardsley School for Girls.

RammSanderson Ecology Ltd is a specialist ecological consultancy based at offices in the East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Northern Ireland, offering services in Ecology, Flood Risk and Arboriculture. We hold a 5* RISQS rating for Network Rail managed infrastructure with ten PTS accredited ecologists. Founded by Oliver Ramm and Nick Sanderson, the company has core principles of coherent advice based on experience and pragmatism; delivery of high quality work in a timely, cost efficient manner and a belief in customer service, whilst adhering to the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management’s Code of Professional Conduct. We believe it is possible, having delivered projects in this manner for some years, to have a practice which can deliver ecological inputs on time, on budget and work with the client and their team to find mutually beneficial solutions. We provide services to a wide range of clients including private individuals, large multinationals, house builders and government bodies.
