Carlos Lao

Carlos Lao serves as a partner at the Capital Markets and Finance Group of Ramón y Cajal Abogados since March 2002. In this role, Carlos Lao has represented issuers and financial institutions in various domestic and cross-border capital markets and financing transactions, showcasing expertise in IPOs, listings, privatizations, exchange offers, private placements, accelerated book-buildings, block trades, bond issuances, and EMTN programs, along with extensive experience in diverse equity and debt offerings. Prior to this, Carlos Lao was a partner at Shearman & Sterling LLP from January 1999 to January 2002, where services included similar financial legal matters. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Legal Advisory for Companies from IE Business School, a Master’s in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles, and Licenciaturas in Law from Universidad de Granada.
