Barry Martin

Barry Martin has extensive experience in the financial sector, currently serving as Head of the Institutional Client Group Debt and Co-Head of the Financial Institutions Group at RMB - Rand Merchant Bank since March 1999. Notably, Barry Martin established the Alternative Lending team focused on non-bank financial institutions in Sub-Sahara Africa and aimed to create the most successful Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team in South Africa. Prior to RMB, Barry Martin held the position of Group Treasurer at Edcon, managing forex, interest rates, and funding structures from April 1997 to March 1999, and completed articles at PwC from January 1994 to March 1997. Barry Martin holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from AIMR and a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand.
