Matthew Shaw

Matthew Shaw is an experienced finance professional specializing in interest rate and foreign exchange trading, currently serving as an International rates and FX forwards trader at RMB - Rand Merchant Bank since September 2018. Previous roles include Senior Trader and Trader of FX Options, and Valuation Analyst at FirstRand Group from January 2017 to August 2018, as well as a quantitative analyst at RMB for a brief period in 2016. Earlier career experiences include engineering internships at Polyoak Packaging, focusing on design projects for automation and cost-saving initiatives. Matthew holds a Master of Philosophy in Mathematical Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management, both from the University of Cape Town, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering from the same institution.
