Imtiaz Vally

Imtiaz Vally has extensive experience in the insurance and finance industry. Imtiaz began their career as an Actuarial Specialist at Alexander Forbes in 2004, before joining Hollard Life in 2006 as an Actuary, where they focused on life valuations, product development, and reporting. In 2016, Imtiaz joined Absa as the Head of Valuations, and the following year, they became the Chief Financial Officer at Hollard Life. Imtiaz then moved on to Old Mutual South Africa in 2018, serving as a Finance Actuary until 2020. Currently, Imtiaz holds the position of Chief Risk & Actuarial Officer at Rand Mutual - RMA since September 2020. Additionally, they are a Non-Executive Director at Swiss Re from March 2021.

Imtiaz Vally attended the Pretoria Muslim School, although no specific years were provided. Imtiaz then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Mathematics at the University of the Witwatersrand from 2000 to 2004. During this time, they also obtained a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques from the Institute of Actuaries in 2005. Imtiaz continued their education at the Actuarial Society of South Africa, where they became a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa in 2014.
