Jay Smith

Jay Smith, CFRE, currently serves as a coach for Tide Swim Team Inc and as a Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer at Randolph-Macon Academy, where a decade of successful development experience with non-profits reflects a strong passion for helping individuals shape their legacies. Previously, Jay held several leadership roles in planned giving, including Director of Planned Giving and Alumni Outreach, where efforts focused on estate planning and engaging class agents, and Director of Planned Giving, noted for revitalizing a dormant department and significantly increasing testamentary gifts. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Pastor at Cambridge Baptist Church, Associate Director of Planned Giving at The Salvation Army, Program Development Officer at Project Lifesaver International, and Senior Procurement Manager at Operation Blessing. Jay is a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force Reserve, and holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Naval Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.
