Farzad Forouzandeh, PhD has a strong background in research and development in the field of medical devices and microfluidics. Farzad is currently working as a Research and Development Engineering Manager at Rani Therapeutics, where they oversee engineering projects. Prior to this role, they were the Lead Senior Mechanical Engineer - R&D, where they contributed to the development of innovative medical devices. Before joining Rani Therapeutics, they worked at Rochester Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Assistant, where they focused on optimizing implantable drug delivery devices and designing microsystems for drug delivery. Farzad also has experience as a Research Assistant at Amirkabir University of Technology, where they developed measurement devices for studying the effects of cardiac motion on coronary flow rate. Dr. Forouzandeh's expertise lies in conceptualization, design, and mechanical analysis of medical devices.

Farzad obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Farzad then pursued a Master's Degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the same institution, completing their studies between 2010 and 2013.
