Aakin Desai

Aakin Desai is a Robotics Engineer at Ranpak, having held the position since October 2021. Previously, Aakin completed an internship as a C++ Robotics Engineer at THORDRIVE, where responsibilities included controlling an LED bar on a vehicle using an Arduino board and developing utility functions in C++ and ROS. Prior to that, Aakin interned at L&T MHI Turbine Generators Private Limited, managing the autonomous movement of heavy tools with a MAV3K Robot, resulting in a 23% reduction in tool movement time and enhanced labor safety. Aakin's experience also includes an internship at Reliance Industries Limited, where the implementation of a PID controller led to a significant reduction in stack temperature and water temperature. Aakin holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Nirma University, Ahmedabad.
