Ransburg Scout Reservation
Alex Buxton is an emerging leader with a strong background in customer experience and organizational communication. Currently serving as an Ed Shipley Fellow at Ball State University Foundation, responsibilities include supporting mentorship initiatives and the Top 100 Student Awards while creating marketing materials. As a Camp Commissioner at Ransburg Scout Reservation, Alex manages check-in and check-out for a large number of campers and oversees the quality of 42 campsites. Previous roles at Ball State University include Welcome Center Employee, Campus Tour Guide, and Homecoming Steering Committee Campus Relations Chair, showcasing a dedication to enhancing university engagement and student experiences. Educational achievements include a Master's degree in Organizational Communication and a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Ball State University, complemented by extensive experience in the Boy Scouts of America in various leadership capacities.

Established in 1966 Ransburg Scout Reservation was constructed to serve the scouts of the then Central Indiana Council (now Crossroads of America Council), but today scouts from all over the world attend one of our 9 weeks of summer camp. We are nestled within Hoosier National Forest on the banks of beautiful Lake Monroe not far from Bloomington, Indiana. We offer a diverse set of programs, state of the art facilities, and a dedicated staff committed to outstanding service to Scouts and Scouters.
