Amy Shipley has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Amy started their career in 1991 as a Sports Writer at the Miami Herald Media Company, where they worked until 1997. During their time at the company, they specialized in Olympic sports and performance-enhancing drugs. Amy then joined The Washington Post in 1997 as a Sports Writer, where they won multiple awards for investigative reporting, projects, game story, feature writing, explanatory reporting, and breaking news. In 2001, Amy worked as an Associate Editor at The Wine News until 2010. From 2012 to 2015, they served as an Investigative Reporter at The Sun Sentinel, focusing on high-impact local issues and winning an award for investigative reporting. Currently, Amy is serving as the Director of Communications at Ransom Everglades School since December 2015.

Amy Shipley attended Seton-La Salle High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1983 to 1987, where they completed their high school education. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering at Princeton University from 1987 to 1991.
