Jorge Castro-Godínez

Senior Embedded Software Engineer & Manager at Rapid Silicon

Jorge Castro-Godínez has extensive work experience in academia, research, and embedded software engineering. Jorge started their career as a Lecturer at Tecnológico de Costa Rica in 2012 and later became an Assistant Professor in January 2021. At the same institution, they worked as a Research Assistant at the SIP-Lab, focusing on signal and image processing on embedded platforms from February 2012 to June 2014.

In 2014, Jorge joined Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)/University of Karlsruhe (TH) as a Scientist, where they worked until December 2020. During this time, they also served as a Research Assistant at FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik, contributing to various projects from March 2018 to December 2019.

Jorge's expertise in embedded systems and firmware development led him to work as a Firmware Developer at Bounce Imaging from January 2013 to June 2014. Jorge also gained experience as an Embedded Systems & Project Engineer at Canam Technology Inc, focusing on ARM-based SoC implementation and embedded software development from July 2010 to February 2012.

In 2022, Jorge joined Rapid Silicon as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer & Manager, where they currently hold a position.

Jorge Castro-Godínez's education history begins in 2003, when they started their studies at Tecnológico de Costa Rica, majoring in Electronics Engineering. Jorge pursued this degree until 2011, completing their Licentiate degree in Electronics Engineering.

In 2012, Jorge enrolled at Tecnológico de Costa Rica again, this time for a Master of Science degree. Jorge specialized in Embedded Systems and successfully completed their M.Sc. in Electronics Engineering in 2014.

Jorge's academic journey continued at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2015. Jorge pursued a Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) degree in Computer Science, and this educational endeavor lasted until 2020.

Additionally, in June 2023, Jorge obtained a certification named "System Verilog for Verification Seminar" from Siemens Digital Industries Software.
