Raffy Simbol

Raffy Simbol has a range of work experience in the field of information technology. Raffy started their career as an Information Technology and Knowledge Management Officer at Focus on the Global South in 2008, where they ensured efficient communication and web systems across multiple country offices. Raffy also maintained Linux servers for these platforms and managed IT procurement. In 2013, they joined AECOM as a Technology Services Specialist, providing technical support and overseeing IT operations for 110 staff. From 2016 to 2019, Simbol worked as an Information Technology Infrastructure Manager at WAL Consultant Company Limited, handling the design, installation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure. Raffy deployed Windows Server, Cisco Small Business solutions, and managed Active Directory and Office 365 services. In 2017, they became the Head of IT Infrastructure and Support at The Asia, where they managed daily operations, implemented Azure Active Domain Controller, and ensured compliance with IT policies and procedures. Simbol's most recent role is at Rapid4Cloud as the AVP Alliances - APAC since 2016, and at Zipmex as the Global Information Technology Manager since 2021.

Raffy Simbol completed a Bachelor of Library and Information Science degree in Management Information Systems and Services from the University of the Philippines, where they studied from 2002 to 2007.

In addition to their degree, Raffy has obtained several certifications. In 2016, they received the ITIL Service Management Foundation certification from EXIN, and in 2016, they achieved fluency in elementary German through Duolingo. In 2018, they completed the Azure Enterprise Development: 1 Governance and Infrastructure Deployments course from LinkedIn.

From 2019 to 2023, Raffy obtained multiple certifications related to digital marketing and IT. Raffy completed the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course from IBM, the Getting Started with AI Using IBM Watson course, and the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain: An Introduction to Digital Currencies course from the University of Pennsylvania. Raffy also obtained certifications in SalesForce Basic from UC Irvine, IT/IS Governance from the University of Minnesota, and Google Professional Workspace Administrator from Google.

Furthermore, Raffy has obtained certifications in various other areas such as project management, change management, storytelling and influencing, and digital transformation from institutions like Macquarie University, Coursera, and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Most recently, in 2023, they acquired certifications in Attract and Engage Customers with Digital Marketing and Foundations of Digital Marketing and E-commerce, both from Google.
