Kealan Gifford

Kealan Gifford has a diverse work experience in software development and engineering. Kealan is currently working at RapidRatings as a Software Developer since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked at ICE as a Software Developer in the Risk Mitigation team from June 2019 to June 2021. At ICE, they developed and maintained large-scale enterprise software and built data systems using Python, Java with Spring Boot 2, Kafka, Jenkins, Liquibase, and SQL.

Before joining ICE, Kealan worked at Ammeon as an Associate Software Engineer. Kealan automated tasks using Python scripting and worked on developing and refactoring VBA. Kealan also worked as a Graduate Software Engineer at Ammeon for a short period after completing training in Mirantis OpenStack, ISTQB Foundation Level Tester courses, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile methodologies.

Kealan also has experience in educational and customer service roles. Kealan worked at University College Cork as a Java Programming Demonstrator, assisting students in practical Java programming classes. Kealan also worked as a Web Content Administrator and Intern at Caseys Furniture, where they managed the eCommerce website and gained problem-solving skills in a small team environment.

Additionally, Kealan worked as a Deputy Public Relations Officer at UCCCU, where they gained experience in public relations. Kealan also worked at Blazing Saddles Bike Rentals and Tours as a Customer Service and Tours staff member, interacting with customers and coordinating with large and small teams during guided tours.

Before transitioning into software development, Kealan worked as a Chef de Partie at Ortus Fine Foods, where they demonstrated excellent communication and time management skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Kealan Gifford's education history begins in 2013 when they enrolled at Griffith College Dublin. Kealan obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computing Science from there in 2015. Following this, they attended the University College Cork from 2015 to 2018 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Kealan has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they acquired a Full Driving Licence from the Road Safety Authority. In 2018, they obtained the ISTQB Certified Tester, Foundation Level certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board. Moving forward, in 2019, they completed the Python for Data Science: Intermediate course offered by Dataquest.io. Later on, in 2021, they took the Developing on AWS Course and in 2022, the Data Warehousing on AWS Course offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
