José Luna Ochoa

José Luna Ochoa has a diverse and extensive work experience in accounting and finance. José currently serves as the Head of Accounting at RappiCard México since August 2021. Previously, they worked as the Director of Accounting and Internal Control at Covalto from November 2018 to August 2021.

Before that, José held the position of Director of Accounting at Grupo Financiero Banorte in July 2018 and October 2018. From October 2014 to October 2018, they were the Director of Accounting Policy and Expense Management at Grupo Financiero Interacciones. During this role, José made significant achievements in automating and streamlining financial processes, such as bank reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and implementing high-impact regulatory changes.

Prior to their positions in the financial industry, José worked as the Director of Accounting Regulation at the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNBV) from November 2010 to September 2014. José played a crucial role in developing and updating accounting regulations for supervised entities and was actively involved in committees and initiatives related to financial instruments and information.

José's earlier experience includes working as the Coordinator of Accounting and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) at Navistar Financial, S.A. de C.V. SOFOM, E.N.R. from November 2005 to October 2010. José successfully implemented an ERP system (PeopleSoft) and ensured compliance with CNBV and US GAAP accounting standards.

José started their career at Deloitte México as a Senior Auditor in the Financial Sector from January 2002 to October 2005. José's initial professional experience was as an Accounting Analyst at Funes y Asociados S.C., where they conducted financial statement audits and managed accounting policies and journals.

José Luna Ochoa pursued higher education at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Licenciatura en Contaduría Pública degree with a focus on Contabilidad y finanzas. Following this, they attended the Universidad Tecnológica de México from 2010 to 2012, obtaining an MBA con diplomado en Finanzas.
