Manuel Suárez Ortiz

Manuel Suárez Ortiz has over 14 years of work experience, starting from 2007 to the present. Manuel began their career as a Law Clerk at Nader, Hayaux & Goebel, where they served for three years. Manuel then worked as an Associate at Basham, Ringe y Correa, S.C., specializing in legal matters for two years. After that, they joined White & Case LLP as an Associate for two years before transitioning to the role of Deputy General Counsel at Aeromexico for a year. In 2017, they became a Senior Associate at DLA Piper, contributing their legal expertise for two years. Following their time at DLA Piper, they joined OYO as the Head of Legal & Compliance Mexico, later becoming Head of Legal, Compliance, People Operations & PR, and then VP Legal & Chief Compliance Officer LATAM. In 2021, Manuel Suárez Ortiz joined JOKR as the General Counsel & Head of Compliance LATAM on the founding team until February 2023. Presently, they are serving as the Chief Legal Officer - General Counsel at RappiCard México, starting from February 2023.

Manuel Suárez Ortiz has a diverse education history. Manuel started their academic journey by completing their Bachillerato at Colegio Vista Hermosa from 1999 to 2005. Following this, they attended Universidad Panamericana from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained a Licenciatura en Derecho, specializing in the field of Derecho. In 2011, they further enhanced their legal knowledge by pursuing an Especialidad en Derecho de Amparo at the same institution, which they completed in 2012. Finally, Manuel Suárez Ortiz pursued a higher degree in law by attending Boston University School of Law from 2016 to 2017, where they obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a focus on Banking and Finance.
