Jan Carlo Punongbayan, PhD, is an accomplished academic and practitioner in the field of economics, currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Senior Lecturer at the UP School of Economics since July 2013. In addition to teaching courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and Philippine economic history, Jan Carlo holds the position of Director of Graduate Admissions and Fellowships, with a PhD dissertation focused on market design in school choice. As a columnist for Rappler, Jan Carlo discusses Philippine economics and public policy weekly and co-founded Usapang Econ, which produces informative online content for the public.
