Leilani Chavez

Leilani Chavez is an experienced professional with a diverse background in research, journalism, and communications. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and as an Asia Correspondent for Defense News, Leilani also holds a fellowship at the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism and contributes to Rappler. Previous roles include Staff Writer at Mongabay, Writer for GMA Network, Inc., and Communications Officer for Save the Children Philippines, where responsibilities included support for the Marawi Response team. Additionally, Leilani has experience as a Creative Producer at Viva Communications and as a lecturer at St. Scholastica's College, Manila. Academic achievements include a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Saint Scholastica's College.
