Maria Laura Barreiro has over 10 years of experience in various marketing roles. Their most recent position was as the Head of Marketing at CafeMedia in 2017, where they also served as the Director of Online Marketing Strategy starting in 2015. At CafeMedia, Maria was responsible for member acquisition and social media strategies for MamásLatinas, successfully launching bilingual SEM and online media acquisition campaigns and improving new member experiences. Prior to CafeMedia, Maria worked as a freelance marketing consultant, developing and implementing digital marketing strategies for small businesses and start-up companies. From 2005 to 2009, Maria worked at GE Money, where they initially served as an Assistant Marketing Manager before being appointed as a Marketing Manager. Their responsibilities included providing insights regarding segment trends and opportunities and leveraging best practices from Latin America to tailor acquisition channels and practices specifically to Hispanic consumers in the US. Maria began their career in consulting for Ernst & Young in 2003.

Maria Laura Barreiro earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina 'Santa María de los Buenos Aires' from 1997 to 2001. Later in 2010 to 2011, they pursued further education and earned a certificate in Digital Media Marketing from New York University.
