Matt Joinson

Matt Joinson has over 13 years of work experience in software development and testing. In 2022, they joined Raptor Technologies, LLC as a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test. Prior to that, they worked at Mitrefinch - an Advanced company from 2013 to 2022, where they held two roles - Senior Test Automation Engineer and Test Analyst. Matt was responsible for extensive testing of web systems, including APIs and mobile apps, and developing a UI test automation framework using C#, NUnit and Selenium. Matt also lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-up sessions. From 2008 to 2013, Matt worked at Aviva as a Senior System Test Analyst. Matt was a member of a skilled technical test team responsible for validating and verifying customer-facing Web platforms along with the associated architecture including web services and a mainframe back-end. Matt lead testing on multiple projects, managed the work of both onshore and offshore testers, and conducted key testing activities. Matt also provided clear and accurate reports of progress to a range of stakeholders, and trained and mentored other team members. Additionally, they were the Test Tools working group lead and managed a team of 5 people whose role was to support and administer the strategic test management tool used by 1500+ users across numerous UK business areas within Aviva.

Matt Joinson obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology from the University of Lincoln between 2002 and 2005. Matt also holds an ISEB Practitioner Certificate in Software Testing from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
